A comprehensive review of non-coding RNA expression in human postmortem brain tissues identified numerous lncRNAs and miRNAs with altered expression in psychiatric disorders and suicidal behavior, including the LINC02460 which was upregulated in the amygdala of subjects with schizophrenia and overlaps the CNNM2 gene locus [Yoshino & Dwivedi DOI:10.3389/fpsyt.2020.543893]. A study in human postmortem brain tissue demonstrated that the LINC02460 lncRNA was hypermethylated in the nucleus accumbens of subjects with alcohol use disorder compared to matched controls, with a mean methylation level of 0.575 versus 0.287 [Liu et al.
