Forensic Context
A study in humans demonstrated that the lnc-METTL22-12 is down-regulated in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of patients with major depressive disorder and its expression shows a significant negative association with suicide risk, being markedly lower in patients with suicidal ideation and past suicide attempts compared to those without and to healthy controls [Cui et al. DOI:10.1002/brb3.711]. A review further notes that the lnc-METTL22-12 is down-regulated in PBMC of MDD subjects with suicidal ideation [Yoshino & Dwivedi DOI:10.3389/fpsyt.2020.543893].
