A study in human body fluid samples demonstrated that the lnc-SLC25A28-1 was not experimentally investigated for forensic body fluid identification in this work, which instead validated lnc-SLC25A39 as a peripheral blood-specific marker and lnc-LINC00279-202 as a semen-specific marker using RT-qPCR and machine learning models [Chen et al. DOI:10.1016/j.legalmed.2025.102655]. A study in humans demonstrated that lnc-SLC25A28-1, a long noncoding RNA, was significantly upregulated in the peripheral blood of sepsis patients compared to healthy volunteers and further upregulated in nonsurvivors compared to survivors, with diagnostic and prognostic potential validated by qRT-PCR and ROC curve analysis [Dai et al. DOI:10.089/gtmb.2017.0061].
