The long non-coding RNA NORAD (non-coding RNA activated by DNA damage) is induced by DNA damage and functions to maintain genome stability by sequestering Pumilio proteins into phase-separated domains, thereby preventing aberrant mitosis [Mattick et al. DOI:10.1038/s41580-022-00566-8]. A study in human endothelial cells demonstrated that the NORAD is activated by hypoxia, a key condition in wound healing, which supports its investigation for forensic injury time estimation [Li et al.
